New Upper Canada Discovery Centre at Upper Canada Village
Cornwall and the CountiesThe Upper Canada Discovery Centre is an exciting new facility located at the entrance to Upper Canada Village, scheduled to open in summer 2011. Built to provide visitors with an orientation and understanding of the Village and its history, the Discovery Centre also provides valuable historical background on the early settlement of our region, and the influential role played by the St. Lawrence River. See the new interactive exhibits, historical images and artifacts on display for the first time. Experience how the First nations, Loyalists and early settlers lived. Learn about important technological changes experienced in mid-nineteen century related to transportation, communication, farming and more. And don’t miss the dramatic new audio visual presentation about the Battle of Crysler’s Farm during the War of 1812, and how this battle was vital to the development and formation of Canada as a nation.
